Company History
I remember organizing things as one of my first memories. My mother will tell you that I was organizing my sister and my room shortly after I began walking. I laid out the space, rearranged furniture, arranged my chest of drawers and closet. My sister didn't always appreciate my extraordinary talent when she came up on the short end of the organization stick!
However, my organizing talent served me well in a couple of different careers for several firms throughout my life. As a Human Resource Manager in different companies, I managed a large staff performing very complex and sensitive work impacting thousands of employees. I established the structure, the systems and technology for successfully managing all the multitude of data and functions.
About nine years ago, I became a Realtor responsible for much more "hands on" systems, programs and data. In that role I was a "Jack of all trades" --- as a business owner responsible for all facets of the business, I did the planning, marketing, customer service, analyses, finances, administrative, clerical, sales and technology. Organization was absolutely critical to my success as a Realtor, since I did not have any assistance in my business.
As a Realtor, I also became a professional organizer. From the very start, my clients needed my help to prepare their houses and properties for sale. As my real estate business grew, I began to assume more and more of the professional organizer role. Some of the tasks I performed on a routine basis included:
Organizing entire households
Staging houses for marketing
Space layout and furniture arrangement
Decorating and design
"Flipping" houses (buying a "fixer", remodeling and selling for a profit)
Assisting people to "see" the viability of a space to meet their needs through modification/reorganization
The Organization Guru informally began nine years ago and was officially established earlier this year. I have joined professional organizer associations and taken several courses. I am currently working on my certifications also.
